What is therapy like? This is different based on the therapist you are seeing, as we all have our individual styles. I would describe myself as personable, casual, and empathetic. When appropriate, I use humor with clients. I enjoy talking about books, movies, and pop culture. We may start off by talking about your favorite foods, but before you know it, we’re diving into deeper topics.

What will we talk about in therapy? This is entirely up to you. During our intake session I’ll explore your reasons for wanting to start therapy and we’ll discuss developing goals to work on. Some days you may have a lot to talk about, other days you may not. This is perfectly fine. We will figure out ways to fill the therapy hour and continue working towards your goals.
-
How long does therapy last? Each session is 50 minutes long. As far as the whole therapy journey, this will depend on your needs. We establish goals in the beginning, during the intake session. These goals may shift and change or we may even resolve them. In this case, we will talk about options for ending therapy or reviewing other goals you may want to address.
